United States Senate elections, 1836

The United States Senate election of 1836 was an election which had the Jacksonian coalition emerge as the Democratic Party, with the Adams, or Anti-Jackson, coalition emerge as the Whig Party

As this election was prior to ratification of the seventeenth amendment, Senators were chosen by State legislatures.
